  • Dr Magdy Asaad – Person Responsible, Clinical Director

    Dr Magdy Asaad: Person Responsible/Clinical Director Dr Asaad was born in Egypt and graduated from medical school in 1976. He trained as an obstetrician & gynaecologist in Cairo then moved to the UK in 1982. He worked in England and Wales until 1990 and obtained a Diploma in Obstetrics then MRCOG in London in 1986. From 1987, Dr Asaad became interested in fertility and assisted reproduction. In 1990, he moved to the United Arab Emirates where he started the first and largest Governmental IVF Centre with a German colleague. He continued to practice as an obstetrician and gynaecologist and was later appointed as Clinical Associate Professor and Acting Head of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

    Dr Asaad was awarded FRCOG in 1998 and relocated back to the UK and joined the team at London Fertility Centre in 2004. Dr Asaad enjoys painting, photography and swimming.

  • Dr Celine De Graaf – Fertility Specialist

    Dr Celine de Graaf joined us from her native country, the Netherlands. Dr de Graaf commenced her studies in Leiden at Leiden University. She worked as a Senior House Officer in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Queen's Mary Hospital, Sidcup.

    Dr de Graaf finalised her Fertility training at Leiden University Hospital before moving to the UK. Dr de Graaf joined our team at London Fertility Centre were she specializes in surrogacy treatments.

    In her spare time, Dr de Graaf enjoys physical pursuits including skiing, tennis and cycling and the arts, opera and theatre.

  • Dr Safaa Maxwell – Fertility Specialist

    Dr Safaa Maxwell trained as an obstetrician and gynaecologist in the UK since 1993 She worked in the field of reproductive medicine in London for 5 years and joined our centre having completed her training. Dr Maxwell joined our team at London Fertility Centre were she specializes in recurrent miscarriages and in our egg donation programmes.

    In her spare time she likes spending time with her family, reading, travelling and life drawing.

  • Dr Ghazala Basir - Fertility Specialist

    Dr Ghazala Basir graduated from Pakistan and moved to Hong-Kong in 1987. She became interested in reproductive medicine in 1996 and was affiliated to “Queen Mary Hospital The University of Hong-Kong”.  Her research interests and publications include endometrial receptivity, implantation failure and ovulation induction. She later joined the Maternal Fetal Unit and studied IVF pregnancies in the Perinatal period. She moved to UK with her family in 2005 to further her carrier in assisted conception.

    In her spare time she enjoys poetry, baking and spending time with family and friends.
    Research interests include implantation failure and poor ovarian response.

  • Mr Rajat Goswamy FRCOG – Consultant Gynaecologist

    Mr Rajat Goswamy has been performing IVF techniques since 1982
    He is the pioneer of vaginal ultrasound in the UK and also performed the first ultrasound directed egg collection procedures, initially using abdominal ultrasound and later using vaginal ultrasound techniques. He is known for his thoroughness in the investigation of causes of infertility.
    He initially set up IVF Centres at King's College Hospital, London and the Hallam Medical Centre. He then worked as Deputy Medical Director under Patrick Steptoe in Cambridge from 1985 to 1988

    He is a frequent speaker at international meetings on topics relating to infertility, IVF, ultrasound and minimally invasive surgery, using laparoscopy and hysteroscopy. He has trained many specialists worldwide, and published extensively in the last 18 years

    From 1989 to the beginning of 1999, he was Medical Director of the Churchill Clinic in London, which became one of the most successful centres for treatment and training in IVF and ultrasound techniques

    Since May 1999, the Harley Street Fertility Centre has become a successful and reputable centre with the latest ultrasound technology providing three dimensional images to increase diagnostic ability and four dimensional images to provide more sophisticated monitoring of high risk pregnancy.

    Since March 2010, Harley Street Fertility Centre and London Fertility Centre are working in partnership to provide the highest standards of gynaecology and fertility treatments.
